Volume changes take a few seconds to reach the TV

A volume change usually reaches the TV about three seconds after you set it. Set the level once and wait rather than adjusting repeatedly.

What you see

You move the volume slider or tap a volume button, and the TV's volume changes about three seconds later rather than immediately.

Why it happens

The controller sends the level once you let go of the slider, rather than sending every value you pass through, and it leaves at least a second between sends. The command then travels from your phone to Mediacast, down to the appliance at your venue, and through your TV control system to the TV itself. Each step is quick; together they add up to a few seconds.

What to do

Set the level you want and give it a moment, rather than dragging the slider repeatedly. Adjusting over and over also risks the refusals described in Rapid taps on the TV controls may be declined.

Who is affected

Every suite and club controller that offers volume control.

Fix

No fix is scheduled. This is how the path behaves today, and the delay is a property of the chain between the phone and the TV rather than a fault in one part of it. If that changes, this page changes with it.
