Advanced Services

Integration and consulting across the converged venue stack.

Advanced Services is the engineering practice Mediacast was founded on in 2014, and still runs today. Twenty years of accumulated experience in media production, transport, infrastructure, systems design, solution support, and consulting — brought to bear on the venue technology programs that need it.

Platform software alone doesn't solve the problem. The real challenge in venue technology is integration — making dozens of vendor systems work together as a coherent whole across network, compute, video, audio, and control layers. That's what Advanced Services does, informed by the same engineering perspective that shapes the Mediacast platform itself.

IPTV Systems

Complete IPTV ecosystem design and integration — from headend architecture and MPEG-TS multicast distribution to middleware platforms and endpoint management. We deploy MediaCaster alongside third-party encoding and distribution systems, engineering solutions that deliver hundreds of channels across venue switching fabrics with sub-second channel change performance. Our designs integrate platforms including Cisco/WiPro VisionEDGE, VITEC, and BrightSign with the Mediacast platform's content pipeline and control plane.

Capabilities

Headend & encoding architecture (satellite, terrestrial, OTT ingest)
IP multicast distribution design (PIM sparse-mode, IGMP snooping)
MediaCaster deployment and channel origination configuration
Middleware & channel management platform integration
Suite & concourse endpoint deployment (BrightSign, Cisco DMP)
IPTV-to-audio bridging for distributed sound systems

AV Production Infrastructure

We design and integrate the production technology backbone that powers in-venue video boards, ribbon displays, and broadcast feeds. From routing and switching to graphics and replay, our systems are engineered for the demanding uptime and workflow requirements of live sports and entertainment production. Production infrastructure integrates with the Mediacast platform for centralized monitoring, control, and content delivery to IPTV and signage endpoints.

Capabilities

Video routing & switching (AJA Kumo, Evertz, Ross Ultrix)
Graphics & character generation (Ross XPression, Vizrt)
Replay & highlight systems (EVS, Ross XPression Clips)
LED display integration (Unilumen, Daktronics, Trans-Lux)
NDI, SDI, and ST 2110 workflow design
Production-to-IPTV content pipeline integration

Network Infrastructure

Our network designs converge traditionally siloed media and IT infrastructure onto unified, high-performance switching fabrics. We engineer networks that simultaneously support IP video multicast, AES67/Dante audio, production control, enterprise IT, and facility operations — all with the deterministic performance characteristics that live production demands. NetCaster provides ongoing network visibility and compliance enforcement after deployment.

Capabilities

Cisco Nexus/Catalyst, Aruba, and Arista switching fabric design
IP multicast architecture for IPTV and AoIP distribution
802.1X network access control (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass)
Network segmentation, QoS, and traffic engineering
NetCaster deployment for ongoing compliance and device management
Network automation and programmability (NX-API, Python, PowerShell)

Compute & Storage

We architect compute and storage platforms sized and optimized for the specific workloads found in venue technology environments — from Mediacast platform services and IPTV transcoding to video replay servers, surveillance NVR storage, and facility management databases. Our designs span hyperconverged, converged, and purpose-built platforms matched to each workload's performance and redundancy requirements.

Capabilities

Hyperconverged infrastructure (Cisco HyperFlex, Nutanix AHV)
Enterprise compute platforms (HPE GreenLake, Dell PowerEdge)
Mediacast platform on-prem deployment sizing and architecture
Surveillance storage capacity planning and NVR sizing
Virtualization architecture (VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV)
Disaster recovery and business continuity design

Control & Automation

We develop custom control interfaces and automation logic that abstract complex multi-vendor technology stacks into intuitive operator experiences. Our Q-SYS Lua plugin development practice has delivered production-deployed integrations for IPTV systems, LED processors, lighting controllers, video routers, and more. CastControl extends this control layer to guests and non-technical staff, while the Mediacast platform API enables automation that spans every integrated system.

Capabilities

Q-SYS control system design and Lua plugin development
Crestron control system programming and deployment
CastControl integration for guest-facing and staff-facing control
Custom protocol integrations (TCP, UDP, ModBus, RossTalk)
Mediacast platform API integration for cross-system automation
Operational workflow design and operator interface development
📞

Communications & Telephony

We design and deploy the communications infrastructure that keeps venue operations connected — from enterprise telephony and mobile collaboration to production intercom and two-way radio integration. Our designs address both the enterprise IT communications needs and the specialized production communications requirements unique to live event environments, integrated into the same converged network fabric that carries video and control traffic.

Capabilities

Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) design & deployment
Jabber/Webex client integration and Expressway edge traversal
Production intercom systems (Riedel, Clear-Com)
SIP trunking and PSTN gateway architecture
E911 compliance and emergency communication systems
SMS/mobile messaging for venue operations and guest notifications

The team that builds the platform deploys the infrastructure.
