The company began with a single technical thesis: that professional venues were ready to move their video and audio infrastructure off purpose-built broadcast hardware and onto IP networks. In 2014 that meant designing IPTV systems, multicast video distribution, networked audio fabrics, and the converged compute environments that hold them together. Mediacast did the engineering, specified the systems, and helped venue operators and integrators get them into production.

That engineering work surfaced the same problem at every property: every video and audio system shipped with its own management plane, its own credentials, its own operating model. No one was building the unified control surface the venues actually needed. So Mediacast started building it.

Today Mediacast is a platform company. The Mediacast Platform — together with the product family that runs on it — gives professional sports and entertainment venues one control plane, one API surface, and one system of record for every surface in the building. The original engineering services practice continues as Advanced Services, supporting customers from architecture and design through ongoing operational programs.
